Golf is contradicting.
Dangerous even, if you ask me.
Because, what are you supposed to do?
🙄 Golfers think:
‘but golfing isn’t intense’
‘but my physician told me to go play golf because it’s going to help with my stress levels so all I have to do is show up’
‘but all my non-golfing friends keep looking weird at me for having to recover after a round’
‘and all that Bryson DeChambeau kind of training, isn’t that supposed to cause injuries?
😕 And you might even be told:
‘that golf training thing, it’s supposed to be for the pro’s only right?’
‘I’m not flexible enough for that kind of training, I’ll stick to hitting 100 balls a day on the range’
‘I don’t want to lose my range of motion from lifting weights’
😩 And most importantly, underlying limiting & destructive believes might be:
‘Once I get to run a 5K or 10K, then I’ll look into investing for a coach who can train me.’
‘Feeling exhausted and depleted after 18H has nothing to do with my fitness, I just need to learn how to swing more consistent and get those birdies in’
‘Once I reach my new handicap and dropped 5 strokes consistently, then I’ll invest in a coach’
💡😏 What is holding you back has come from a long history of collective misconceptions & myths.
This is also why I believe so much in focusing on education in our golf culture.
⠀
😉 but don’t worry, I’m here to give you solutions & answers. Simply put: if your round of golf feels like the most intense thing your body does on a weekly basis and if you want to remain injury free & enhance longevity/enjoyment or performance:
Golf training with a @mytpi coach should be your number one priority this time of the year.
✨ So now remember: ⠀
⠀
If you would only change one thing in your off season training from tomorrow onwards… ⠀
⠀
What would you delete? What wouldn't you do anymore? What would you add instead? ⠀
P.S. a client said during our one on one session:
"I've already done personal training before in the past, but what a difference! Liesbeth lets you get a strong and stable body with relatively simple exercises that transfer way better to my swing and game and I'm hitting the ball so much further now”
Building great stability means that you can get more rotational capacity with less discomfort that leads to effortless lower scores, without having to work harder. Sounds interesting to you? Email me at info@lpgolfperformance.nl to hop on a call together.
